Our Art Collection

The fine art collection includes a variety of works by local and international artists such as Robert Kiddey, Peter Brannan, William Nicholson and Stanley Spencer.  William Cubley, a former Mayor of Newark in 1866, and an exceptional artist, also has a selection of works on permanent display.

Recent Acquisitions

The Friends of the Town Hall Museum has recently bought an original lithograph of Queen Victoria in 1897, her Diamond Jubilee Year, by William Nicholson (1872-1949).  In conjunction with Newark Town Council, the Friends Committee also purchased three Peter Brannan oil paintings of seaside scenes.  New acquisitions are all featured on our interactive Touch Screen.
